Nahant Lions Club
REDUCE the amount of waste produced
- Organize a cleanup campaign to reduce litter in parks,along waterways, at schools or on highways.
- Help reduce the depletion of the ozone layer by planting a tree.
- Reduce the destruction of flora and fauna by publicizing their endangerment.
REUSE materials instead of discarding them
- Purchase products made from recycled materials.
- Return natural nutrients to the earth by creating a compost pile.
- Clean a local water system then stock it with fish
RECYCLE materials whenever possible
- Lions clubs should set an example, Whenever sponsoring an event always have recycling bins available for bottles/cans and paper.
- Set up a community wide recycling program for metals, glass and plastic.
- Offer assistance to legal environment agencies or recycling centers.
